ASSOCIATION OF CHARTERED CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANTS (ACCA)

The Association of Charted Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the largest and fastest-growing international accountancy body with members in over 170 counties. Those wishing to pursue a professional qualification in accounting should complete this course.

REGISTERING AS AN ACCA STUDENT
Enrolment as a student with us does NOT register you with the ACCA. All students who wish to sit ACCA examinations must register with the ACCA as a professional exam student:
Register online at www.accaglobal.com or request a registration pack from ACCA. Students must be aged 18 or above to register.
Notes:
- Registration takes 6 weeks and can be longer for International students.
- Students can sit a Computer Based Exam (CBE) for the Knowledge modules at any time of the year, and there is no restriction on the number of times you can re-sit the CBE exam. Katherine & King¡¯s College of London is one of the CBE exam centres.

EXEMPTIONS
Students can expect to receive exemptions if they have a relevant degree or a relevant professional qualification. The relevant graduates may be awarded some exemptions for papers in the Fundamentals Level. There are no exemptions given for Essentials and Options modules. For examples, students who hold CAT or AAT membership will be exempt from three Knowledge modules.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
ACCA offers various entry points on to the ACCA course, depending on age and previous academic qualifications. For international students, a minimum of IELTS 5.5 score or Intermediate Certificate in General English is required.
Minimum entry requirements
- Two A-levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five separate subjects including English and Mathematics.
- Information on the minimum entrance criteria for each country is available from the ACCA website.
Mature Student Entry Route (MSER)
- No academic qualifications required
- Must pass the equivalent of Papers F2, Management Accounting and F3, Financial Accounting within two years before further progression to the ACCA exam is permitted.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
To become a Charted Certified Accountant it is not enough to successfully pass all exams. Students also need to satisfy the Practical Experience Requirements (PER), which is a key component of the ACCA qualification. They are required to provide evidence of a minimum of three years¡¯ relevant supervised work experience. Students at KKCL will benefit from our ¡®ACCA 1+1 Programme¡¯ during term time and holidays. Students will gain first hand practical skills and will be able to practise on real client cases. As part of their ethical development, students will be required to complete a professional ethics module, developed by ACCA.
