Health and Social Care Programme
If you are interested in starting a career in health and social care or just want to find out if this is the right career choice, then the OCR level 1 National Award in Health and Social Care qualifications are for you. You will gain a basic introduction to knowledge , understaning and skills within the health and social care sector and develop your personal skills in team-working and career planning.
You will get an interesting introduction to health and social care. The qualifications are also very flexible, allowing you to study individual units alongside other qualifications if you want to. You can take one of the options from the career route we developed or take a combination of the options to achieve a higher level.
Structure and Syllabus
In order to achieve the OCR level 1 National Award in Health and Social Care, students are required to achieve 4 mandatory units plus 3 units from one career option as listed below:
Mandatory Units:
- Working as a team in health and social care
- Investigating health and social care provision
- Introducing practical caring
- Investigation options for work in health and social care
Career Option 1 Early Years Care
- Babysitting
- Pre-school education
- Care for new born babies
Career Option 2 Social Care
- Effective relationships with community
- Minor accidents care
- Risk management in community care
Career Option 3 Health Care
- Planning and Preparing healthy meals
- Monitoring health
- Health Promotion activities
