OCR Nationals are an excellent alternative to GCSEs, GNVQs and GCEs. They have all been developed to provide relevant job-related skills and understanding.

OCR Nationals are primarily aimed at 16-19 year olds who want to develop skills, knowledge and understanding from relevant work experience. They are also suitable for people aged 14-16, and for adult learners, part-time or full-time. Because of funding issues, KKCL can only provide the programme to students over 16 year old at present.

OCR Nationals are particularly good for students who are interested in learning more about a particular sector or industry. Real workplace knowledge is a stepping stone to real work, and students can gain insight into a specific sector. Students also learn skills that will serve them well in any workplace, such as team working, communication and problem solving.

KKCL offers different career route with combination of relevant units. It aims to make it easier for students to choose career direction. KKCL also provides relevant work placement for students who wish to gain work experience while studying.
