Business Administration (BA)

ABE Business Administration

Introduction

The BA programme provides a professional qualification that may be used to prepare directly for a career in business, or to gain advanced entry onto a range of professional qualifications and university business courses in the UK and other countries. Major themes running throughout the programme include Management, Finance and Accounting, Marketing and IT.

Course Structure

Four compulsory subjects
1.    Introduction to Business
2.    Introduction to Quantitative Methods
3.    Introduction to Accounting
4.    Introduction to Business Communication

 

 

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required, but applicants must be over 18 and also be able to demonstrate competence in the English language by the attainment of one of the following (or equivalent):

1. British Council – Intermediate Certificate in English/ Upper Advanced Certificate in English.
2. LCCI – English for Business (EFB) 1st or 2nd level.
3. Pitman / City & Guilds – English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/ English for Business Communications.
4. KKCL – Intermediate Certificate in General English

 Diploma in Business Administration (DBA)

Course Structure

Part 1 – Four compulsory subjects
1.    Economics
2.    Organisational Behaviour
3.    Accounting
4.    Business Communication

Part 2 – Four compulsory subjects
1.    Marketing
2.    Human Resource Management
3.    Quantitative Methods
4.    Managerial Accounting

Plus one from the following options:
5.    Principles of Business Law
6.    Systems Analysis

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have attained one of the following entry requirements:
1. ABE certificate in Business Administration
2. Two GCE ‘A’ Levels together with four GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English language and Maths.
3. BTEC National award in relevant subjects.
4. Three LCCI passes at Third Level in relevant subjects.
5. Some overseas qualifications may be accepted as being equivalent to the above.
6. Applicants without formal qualifications are also welcome to apply provided the minimum of two years work experience has been attained. A reference letter from employers must accompany all such applications.

 

 

Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (ADBA)

Course Structure

Three compulsory subjects

1.    Corporate Strategy
2.    Management Organisation
3.    International Business (Case Study)

Plus two from the following options:
4.    Strategic Marketing
5.    Corporate Finance
6.    Strategic Human Resource Management
7.    Managing the Information Resource

Entry Requirements


Applicants must have attained one of the following entry requirements:
1. ABE diploma in Business Administration.
2. A degree awarded by a recognised UK or overseas university.
